Meet Rusty Creasey, the man behind the lanyard.

I have never been on a hunting trip I didn’t love. Whether it’s bow hunting whitetails, shooting grey squirrels in a hardwoods bottom, catching bass on a spinner bait or hunting mallard ducks, I have always loved the outdoors.

I was blessed with some of the best teachers along my journey. My uncle was a dog trainer and duck club manager. My older brother was an avid outdoorsman who took me along any chance he could. My daddy was one of the hardest working men I’ve known, and although we didn’t hunt a ton together, we shared many memorable fishing trips. He always made sure I had plenty of guns, bullets, arrows, etc., so that I could do what I love!!  My parents and grandparents raised us with the core values of respect, manners, discipline, a firm handshake, and hard work; all of the things that are lost in today’s world. These have each served me well.  For the last 20 plus years, I have been blessed to make a living doing something I love.  From habitat management in the spring and summer, to being a duck guide in the winter, the outdoors is how I make a living.  Add in partnering with some of the best brands and people in the industry, and I’m just a kid who is living a dream!!

What Is Behind The Lanyard?

I’m often asked different questions about my lanyard. What’s your oldest band? What’s the most memorable? My lanyard is what catches most folks eyes at first. But what about everything that goes on behind the lanyard?? The hours spent in the offseason planting crops, digging out beaver dams, and maintaining levees…the list goes on and on.  I know many of you can relate!! You know what else behind the lanyard is?? It’s the memories made while wearing it. This is where you come in. Think about the times shared with family and friends while we have our lanyards on. That’s what makes us all the same. We all have a lanyard we’ve worn, and whether we have 1 band or 100, the memories made are what we will cherish the most. Many of you have shared heartfelt stories with me about how you have taken something I shared on a video or social media post and used it in your own personal way. Whether it’s  blowing a duck call, planting a food plot, or telling your hunting mentor just how much he or she means to you, I’ve tried to share examples along the way that would benefit each of you. So regardless of what kind of duck call you blow or how many bands you have, all us good ol’ boys and girls are all the same… “Behind The Lanyard”.  We value faith, family, and the outdoors. It’s who we are.
